July 26, 2009 • From Clinton County News

ST. JOHNS - Aug. 7, 2009 from 10 p.m. until 7 a.m. TEENS DANCE FOR THOSE WHO CAN'T Dance-a-thon will bring together area high school students to not only raise money, but also to promote community-wide awareness of Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation and to support those who have been afflicted with childhood cancers.

TEENS DANCE FOR THOSE WHO CAN'T Dance-a-thon 2009 will be a nine-hour fun-filled event with a goal of raising $12,000.

To raise funds, REMIX teams are holding bake sales at Kroger in St. Johns.

Teams will be going door-to-door collecting pop cans over the next few weeks leading up to dance-a-thon 2009. You will recognize team members by their dance-a-thon t-shirts.

The dance-a-thon originated in 2007,when the teens raised over $5,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. In 2008, the teens raised over $8000 for Clinton County Council for the Prevention of Child Abuse & Neglect

This dance-a-thon offers a unique opportunity to not only contribute to Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation, but also to hopefully build some relationships with area teenagers by supporting them in this endeavor.

Any contributions, monetary or otherwise, are appreciated. REMIX will publicly thank and promote all sponsors by announcing the business at the dance-a-thon, using posters at the event and posters on the REMIX float during the Mint Parade.
